Gain a cryptid, lose a cryptid - Thu, December 14, 2006

Okay Monster Hunters, I imagine there might be some rumors being whispered in private forum messages lately, so I’ll clear it all up for you. Actually, I’ll really only be clearing some of it up right now, but the rest will all become clear soon enough.

Yes, it’s true that I have contacted a select few geographically-advantageous MHC members about accompanying me on an expedition immediately after the start of the semester break. These members have been sworn to secrecy about the exact location and nature of this expedition, because I really feel that if what I have been led to believe is actually true, it will practically make the Monster Hunter Club a household name. My hands are actually shaking as I write this, and I’m trying not to get too excited yet, but I believe my source to be a reliable one.

Sorry about all the secrecy guys, I know our thing is cryptids, not cryptic hints, but I really don’t want us to get scooped on this one. I will say this, though: we might be doing a fair amount of digging.

Final exams start tomorrow, then winter break’s just a week after that, so I’m going to be mad busy prepping for this trip until then. Oh yeah, and possibly cramming for exams, if I have time. Anyway, I won’t really be able to check in much (if at all) over the winter break, since I’ll be staying at my Dad’s (aka the Museum of Ancient Computer History), so I won’t be able to approve new forum member registrations until I get back. But new Monster Hunters, go ahead and register anyway, because when we get back, there’s gonna be a lot to talk about.

Oh yeah, another bombshell that got dropped on yours truly… despite the aforementioned good news, I’m being forced to, ahem, “grow up” and get rid of a bunch of my CZ collectibles or the collegiate purse-strings may be permanently cut. I’d really like to see them go to good homes where they will be loved and cared for (whispering sweet nothings to them is optional), so if you’re interested, please see this post.

Have a great holiday, talk to you soon!
